I worked as a Technical Artist Intern at Unity, in the Digital Twin Sales department, for the summer of 2022. Maya, Substance and the Unity engine (Animation, Shadergraph, and Cinemachine) are the main tools used.

My contribution mainly was in animation and camera-related areas. I created animation inside Unity based on the design request. I arranged the prefabs into a specific hierarchy so that I can use the different parent objects to key the transform, rotate and scale motion in Unity animations.
For the Forma custom camera showcase animation. I created the animation also using keyframes. After creating the .anim file, I combined it with Forma and Cinemachine's virtual camera, to create the showcase camera so that when you click on that particular camera, the animation starts automatically.
In some of the clips of animation: curves are super useful because some motion is not linear or constant, when designing a motion that has start/stop or acceleration, I can use curves to make sure it looks like what we see in real life.
The digital twin is a relatively new area, but there's lots of potential for it in automotive, industrial, architecture, digital(online) product marketing, and places like airports and concerts. It could provide additional appeal since customers can see the product in an interactive way, or preview it before actually seeing the physical product, in this new era of zoom-filled remote work style, it can satisfy the need of helping clients visualize what is possible.
